Works of Mercy

Purpose Statement: The most often repeated prayer in the Orthodox Church is “Lord Have Mercy.” We continuously seek mercy from God. At St. Nicholas, we are also reaching out to show mercy to those in need in our community and around the world.

Goals: Provide opportunities throughout the year for parishioners to serve those in need; engage every parishioner in some form of works of mercy; work with Parish Administrator and Ministry Leaders to assist fellowship groups in Works of Mercy engagement; make an impact and increase our visibility in our local community.

Activities: Ridge Park tutoring, Shepherds of Independence events, Hope Network events, Catholic Charities events, Yes! Trip, Foster Care Christmas Store, Church School Bingo, Simply Give, Camelot Winter Clothing Drive, Project Mexico, SOYO Cheesecake Sale, Food for Hungry People, Project GR Workdays, Camelot Block Parties and much, much more.
